Christian Coleman Turns Pro and Signs with HSInternational

June 16, 2017 – HSInternational is proud to announce the signing of University of Tennessee sprinter, Christian Coleman. The junior Tennessee Volunteer decided to turn pro after having a sensational indoor and outdoor collegiate season.

Earlier this year at NCAA Indoor Championships, Christian won the men’s 60m & 200m with world leading times in both events (60m – 6.45 seconds & 200m – 20.11 seconds).

Last week at the NCAA Outdoor Championships, Christian set a new 100m collegiate record of 9.82, breaking a record held at one time by HSI legend, Ato Boldon. Christian then topped off the weekend with a 200m victory.

Christian said of turning pro and signing with HSI, “I want to thank the support of my parents, my coaches and the University of Tennessee. The confidence Tennessee had in me meant a lot to me. I owe a lot to (sprint) coach Tim Hall. He helped me transform my body and develop as a runner. I am also very excited to join the HSI family. I’ve had a pretty historic collegiate season, and it has always been a dream of mine to run on the professional level.”

Christian will continue to train at the University of Tennessee under the supervision of Coach Hall. His training partner includes HSI female sprinter, Dezerea Bryant. He now sets his mind to compete at US Outdoor Championships in Sacramento from June 23 – 25. His goal is to make the World Championship in both the 100m and 200m.
